Pepino Mosaic Virus (PepMV), Real-Time PCR Detection Kit, Letgen

Cat No. LSK2008-0300

Pepino mosaic virus (PepMV) was originally described in Peru on pepino (Solanum muricatum) and found to infect tomato and related wild species. The most important PepMV symptom is the typical fruit marbling, which significantly impacts the economic value of the crop. PepMV appears to have an economically significant impact only in tomato crops grown under intensive cultivation practices, although the virus can infect pepino, aubergine (Solanum melongena), potato (Solanum tuberosum), tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum), and basil (Ocimum basilicum) as well. This is an RNA virus and with, it can be detected with Real-Time PCR instruments. Specifically, the primers and probe represent 100% homology with over 95% of the NCBI database reference sequences available at the time of design. Along with the simple protocol, this feature makes it easy to obtain quick, reliable and rapid results to its users. Letgen Biotech PepMV RT-qPCR assay is validated to be used with the following PCR Instruments: LightCycler 480 II, Stratagene Mx3005P, Bio-Rad CFX 96, Roche LC96, Qiagen Rotor-Gene.
