International Conference on “Laboratory Diagnostics of Autoimmune Diseases: Modern Methods and Clinical Applications” Held in Baku

 

On April 16, 2025, Baku hosted the international conference titled “Laboratory Diagnostics of Autoimmune Diseases: Modern Methods and Clinical Applications”, organized by the Administration of the Regional Medical Divisions (TABIB) with the support of Bayramlı Group LLC.

 

The primary aim of the conference was to disseminate contemporary approaches and innovative methodologies in the laboratory diagnosis of autoimmune diseases, while fostering international collaboration and knowledge exchange within the medical community.

 

Distinguished experts delivered a series of insightful and scientifically grounded presentations throughout the event. Dr. Shahla Hadiyeva, a rheumatologist and Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine, presented on “Major Rheumatologic Autoimmune Diseases”. Gastroenterologist Dr. Emin Verdiyev addressed the topic “Liver Codes: Autoimmune Mysteries”, exploring hepatic autoimmune conditions. Additionally, immunologist Dr. Royala Babayeva, MD, delivered a comprehensive lecture entitled “Primary Immunodeficiency and Its Association with Autoimmune Diseases”, in which she discussed the pathophysiological mechanisms, diagnostic complexities, and clinical manifestations of autoimmune disorders.

 

The segment of the conference focused on laboratory diagnostics featured a presentation by microbiologist Dr. Aynur Ismayil on “Laboratory Diagnostic Methods in Autoimmune Diseases: The Role of the Laboratory in Diagnosis”. Her lecture underscored the pivotal role of laboratory investigations in achieving accurate and timely diagnoses of autoimmune conditions.

 

Special emphasis was placed on the theoretical and applied aspects of serological diagnostics in the presentation by Ayten Oz Kamiloglu. Her talk, which garnered considerable attention, elaborated on the diagnostic significance of serological testing, the influence of appropriate test selection on diagnostic precision, and the limitations encountered within laboratory practice. She further emphasized the integral connection between laboratory data and clinical decision-making processes.

 

The event also included interactive discussions, enabling physicians and specialists to engage in the exchange of expertise and practical experiences, thereby clarifying critical issues in the diagnostic approach to autoimmune diseases.

 

It is noteworthy that the three-day program concluded with hands-on practical training sessions led by Ayten Öz Kamiloğlu and Gizem Türközü Topak, further reinforcing the conference’s educational impact.
